NHPO Goes National

NHPO announces the formation of its National Board of Directors effective January 1, 2007. This newly established board will be NHPO's official governing body. One of the primary responsibilities of the national board will be to set policies and procedures for all NHPO chapters throughout the country.

Since the formation of NHPO three years ago, six NHPO chapters have been established. The National Board of Directors will play a key role in the growth and success of NHPO as a whole. In 2007, seven new NHPO chapters are scheduled to be chartered. These chapters will be located in Fort Lauderdale, Reno, Dallas, San Antonio, Corpus Christi, Lubbock and Puerto Rico. In 2008, ten more NHPO chapters are projected to be formed. NHPO leadership is optimistic about the organizations' growth and feels that the establishment of 17 new chapters over the next 24 months is obtainable and realistic.

"2007 will be an exciting year for NHPO," said National Chairman, Ben Mendez. "We are doing things that have never been done before. Thinking out of the box has made us successful and we will continue to use that mindset to accomplish our goal of making this organization the biggest Hispanic professional organization in the country."
