About the NHPO Foundation
The NHPO Foundation, Inc. was founded on January 1, 2005, as a non-profit organization to provide scholarships and educational opportunities for deserving NHPO members and associates.
The NHPO Foundation also serves as a clearing house for college internship programs. It is the goal of the NHPO Foundation to facilitate the placement of each of their scholarship recipients in an internship where they can get first hand experience in their chosen field of study and to work in a professional environment.
Scholarship Applications
The NHPO Foundation accepts applications for every school year beginning in the October.
To be eligible for this scholarship students must attend one of the following colleges:
1. Houston Community College - Southeast Campus
2. San Jacinto College - (North, South, or Central)
3. Texas Southern University
4. University of Houston
Other requirements include:
1. Must be a current college freshman
2. Must be of Hispanic descent
3. Must maintain a GPA of 2.5 or above on a 4.0 scale
4. Must enroll full-time in the Spring 2007 semester
5. Must NOT be an immediate family member to a NHPO Foundation Board Member or Scholarship Selection Committee Member
